Informasi Species Baru Piper Sp Dan Studi Perbanyakan Pada Tumbuhan Hias Sirih (Piper Crocatum Dan Piper Sp.).

Red piper (Piper crocatum) and unidentified ornamental piper (Piper sp.) are cultivated by developed technique. Identification of key to species of Piper sp. described clearly that both species close relatives and as member of keluarga sirih sirihan or family Piperaceae. Potentials of this Piper are as ornamental Piper which Red Piper (Piper crocatum) is known as medicinal plant but another (Piper sp.) is unknown whether as medicinal or ornamental plant. Developing by cutting and layering done in both species and the results indicated that both Piper could be cutting planted. On Piper crocatum is easy to be cutting planted but Piper sp. could be easy to be layering planted. This developing study may hope to protect exploitation of both Piper from the wild into rarity and better self cultivated.
