Pohon Maladewa (Macadamia hildebrandii Steenis) tumbuhan endemik Sulawesi, koleksi baru Kebun Raya Bogor dan Kebun Raya Enrekang

Macadamia hildebrandii Steenis is one of the prestigious plant species in wallacea region, which is endemic to Sulawesi. In 2011-2013, the exploration team from Bogor and Enrekang has discover this plant in South Sulawesi. This plant will enrich the collection for Bogor and Enrekang Botanic Garden. It is a new collection from wallacea region. The trees can be grown as ornamental plant for their attractive foliage, flowers and fruits. The seeds are edible, and will become a valuable food crop in future. The wood can be processed and used for furniture, construction, pulp and paper material.
