Potensi Papan Insulator Termal dari Tandan Kosong Kelapa Sawit
As the demand for green building materials increase sharply, in particular insulating materials from renewable resources, utilization of natural materials is increase. Recently, the focus of study is to find out the suitable material for thermal insulation . This study aimed to analyze the composition variation of oil palm empty fruit bunches (OPEFB) as a natural thermal insulation. This biomass was mixed with variation of natural adhesive composition such as sodium alginate and cornstarch. Thermal insulation of the board were evaluated by utilizing its density and thermal conductivity data. The best thermal insulation board is indicated by the lowest density and conductivity value. For both natural adhesives, the ratio of OPFEB and adhesives of 80 to 20 resulted in the lowest density and thermal conductivity of insulation board.
