Tinjauan tentang Mitigasi Bahaya Tsunami di Pesisir Pantai dan Pulau-Pulau Kecil
The coastal areas of Indonesia, both geographically and geologically, have huge potential for tsunami and earthquake hazards. The tsunami that happened in Indonesia is commonly caused by shallow and strong earthquakes on the seabed. Basically, the hazard mitigations are divided into structural and non-structural. Structural mitigation can be formed as soft protection by creating a greenbelt,while hard protection by constructing a breakwate1; seawall and groins. The greenbelt is a simple, easy and cheap method for tsunami mitigation in coastal areas and small islands. It can be made by planting mangroves or other plants that suitable with coastal characteristics. On the other hand, non-structural mitigation,for instance, can be made by creating several related policies on disaster mitigation activities. Oseana, Vol. XL, No. 1. Hal. 41-52 ISSN 0216-1877
