Degradasi Tanah Pada Lahan Bekas Tambang Tembaga di Desa Limusgede, Kabupaten Pangandaran
Land degradation is the process of decrease in productivity or quality of the soil that can be seen from several aspects including morphological changes of land, physical, chemical or soil fertility. Copper mining activities in the village Limusgede, Pangandaran Regency has led to land degradation. The mining activities had stopped, but the used excavation and overburden abandoned without any reclamation or rehabilitation effort. Reclamation and rehabilitation efforts should be preceded by an analysis of the soil. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the changes of chemical properties and soil fertility due to the copper mining activities in the village Limusgede, Pangandaran Regency. The method used in this study is a descriptive analysis of data chemical properties, fertility and soil concentrations of heavy metals extracted from the mine site as compared to native soil (baseline). Soil samples taken are disturbed soilusing purposive sampling method taken from the mine site and native soil. The parameter analyzed include texture, soil acidity (pH), organic matter (C and N), P, K, cation exchange capacity (CEC), base saturation (KB), cation exchange (Ca, Mg, Na and K) and heavy metal concentrations. The results shows that the pH value, the content of C, N, P and CEC on mining area respectivelyof 3.0, 0.28 persen, 0.03 persen, 1.8 ppm and 9.42 cmol / kg or lower than the original soil.Meanwhile, the heavy metal content of Mn, Cu, Zn and Pb in soil of the mining area respectively of 1374 ppm, 9 ppm, 70 ppm and 10 ppm or higher than the original soil.
