Influence of Temperature Hot RollingOn Hardness of Ti6Al6Nb
The hardness of titanium alloy influenced by several mechanism such as, solid solution stengthening, high dislocation density, boundary hardening, and precipitation hardening. The thermomechanical treatment of α + β titanium aloy influenced by the temperature of thermomechanical treatment (β transus temperature). In present study the influence of hot rolling process on microstructure and hardness of Ti-6Al-6Nb alloy has been studied. As cast Ti-6Al-6Nb homogenized at 1100 °C and followed by hot rolling at various temperature (900, 1000, 1100 °C). The final Ti-6Al-6Nb plate characterized by optical microscope and microhardness test. The study revealed that hot rolling at 1000 °C has lowest hardness and rolling at 900 °C has highest hardness value. IOP Conference Proceeding JCC Unsoed 15-16 September 2016
