Kelimpahan, Komposisi dan Keragaman Jenis Plankton pada Ekosistem Terumbu Karang di Teluk Ambon
The study was carried out in July 2009 at 8 stations to observe the abundance, composition and species diversity of plankton at coral reef ecosystem in Ambon Bay. Vertical haul method was used to collect phytoplankton using KITAHARA net, and zooplankton using NORPAC net. Temperature and salinity ranged from26,5 to 27,4oC and 33,2to 34,0 psu respectively. DO were 4,32–5,43ppm, phosphate 0,13–0,33 ppm and nitrate 0,12–0,42ppm. Phytoplankton abundance ranged from 52.106 to 0,76.106 cell/m3 whereas zooplankton 3.103 to 10.103 indv/m3. Phytoplankton community was dominated by Chaetoceros, Rhizosolenia, Nitzschia, Coscinodiscus, Bakteriastrum and Thalasionema belong to Diatom, whereas zooplankton was dominated by Calanoida (Acrocalanus and Eucalanus) dan Urochrodata (Larvacea), which occurred in all observation stations with high abundance.
