Kepiting Beracun Suku Xanthidae: Kajian dan Hipotesis Faktor-faktor Penyebabnya

Some Xanthidae are known as poisonous crabs, there are genus Atergatis, Etisus, Demania, Zosimus, Platvpodia and Lophozozvmus. Poisons in these poisonous crabs were contained of domoic acid, okadaic acid, dynophysistoxin, tetrodotoxin, saxitoxin, neosaxitoxin, brevetoxin, surugatoxin, nereitoxin, gonyautoxin and palytoxin. However, many researches and evidences show that these poisons were not only found in crabs, but also in many marine organism. For this reason, there are some hypothesis that believed as factors causing this crabs become poisonous organisms. These factors were contamination and accumulation poisonous compounds via dietary poisonous organisms, bacteria association and autonomy synthesis. Oseana, Vol. XXXI, No. 4. Hal. 31-38 ISSN 0216-1877
