P300 Extraction using nonlinear adaptive filter for EEG based inter-stimulus intervals

In this paper, an application of nonlinear adaptive filter for online P300 extraction is proposed. In the experiment, four different inter-stimulus intervals (ISIs) are utilized: 325 ms, 350 ms, 375 ms, and 400 ms. The experimental results in this work show that the implementation of the proposed method achieves a very significant statistical improvement in extracting P300 components. After a short time of practice, most participants could learn to extract the P300 wave with greater than 80 persen accuracy.
