Schefflera elliptica (Blume) Harms: Kandungan Kimia dan Potensinya sebagai Obat

Schefflera elliptica is a member of the tribe Araliaceae. This plant is believed to be empirically contain bioactive compounds that are efficacious as an anti-cancer. Thus, it has been done with a chemical content analysis with Cuilei method (phytochemical screening). The results showed that S. elliptica contains several chemical compounds such as essential oils, sterols, triterpenoids, carotenoids, coumarins, tannins, reducing sugars, steroid glycosides and poliuranida. The bioactive compounds are thought to have anti-cancer activity in the leaves of S. elliptica are carotenoids and tannins, because it has properties to improve the body\'s immune system against cancer cells and has antioxidant activity.
