Structure Analysis of doped Zirconia Powder Synthesized by Sol Gel
The purpose of this paper was to investigate the effect of divalent and trivalent dopants on to the tetragonal/monoclinic structure of Zirconia. The sample was prepared by sol gel method by mixing ZrCl4 and 4 persen mol of La3+, Fe3+, Co2+, and Ba2+ in the form of metal chloride. X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscope (SEM) was used to determine the characteristics. Zirconia has four polymorphs from monoclinic, tetragonal, cubic, and orthorhombic. Pure ZrO2 has monoclinic structure after calcinations at 950oC. The addition of 4 persen mol La3+, Fe3+, Co2+ and Ba2+, shows also monoclinic structure. However, some cubic structure was appeared for 4 persen mol of Co2+.
