Struktur Ukuran dan Faktor Kondisi Ikan Terbang Parexocoetus mento (Val. 1947) di Perairan Indonesia

Observation on size structure and condition factor (kn) of P. mento was conducted at 5 sites (Padang, Pemuteran, Pemenang, Ambon and Kei Islands) in 2004-2006. Samples were collected from local fishermen who used a gillnet, then they were identified in species level, and measured and weighted individually. The total of fish sampled for this species was 426. Size structure of this species shows that all samples caught were adults, and spawned previously. Moreover, the average of standard length for the fish samples was more than the average recorded in fishbase (maximum SL=11 cm). The condition of this species from five sites was also shown no significant difference during the study. It indicates that spawning pattern of this species is similar, and also may occur at the same period. Jurnal Oseanologi, Vol. 3, No. 1/2. Hal. 37-42
