Potensi Nephelium spp.: Studi Kasus di Kebun Raya Bogor

There are 22 Nephelium species widespread in Asia and 12 species of those are potential to be consumed. It can be used as fruit plants, building material, medicine, and cosmetics. This paper describes ethnobotany information of the Nephelium species. Besides that, the tree and fruit morphology characteristics and preference test are elaborated on some Nephelium species collected. In Bogor Botanic Garden that can be consumed. Based on the observatlon result, the fruits of Nephelium are varied in appearance and taste. There are significant differences in all atribute from the tested Nephelium fruits except on few atributes such as fruit shape, sweetness of fruit, and on flavor intensity.
