Studi kasus taksonomi Citrus hystrix DC. koleksi Kebun Raya Bogor

Leechlime or Citrus hystrix DC have been known by public was plant with specific fruit morphological character, especially with the fruit rind irregularly. In the Bogor Botanic Gardens has recorded six collection plants of leechlime which were original habitat from Central of Java, Central of Celebes and Lesser Sunda Island (East Sumba), also Papua. As a research material, these sixth collection plants have been observed the habitus, leaves shape, the shape ans size of the spine, also the shape of flowers and fruit (if exist). All of the morphological characters which have observed then recorded were usage for analysis of the character difference. Based on the leaves morphology character observation of these sixth plants collection can be into one group, although after the leechlime collection from Central Java have produced flowers and fruits, this fruits character is very different with the common leechlime fruit which were known by the community. The shape and size of leechlime fower from Central Java is similair with flowers of common leechlime, but the differences is the shape of leechlime fruit oblong, and the rind of the fruit glabrous, the fruit zise littler. Likewise the leechlime fruit from Papua, the flower size is bigger. The flowers size as like as Citrus maxima (Burm.) Merr flower's with the fruit rind smooth. Were the taxonomy status of both leechlime collection plants from Central Java and Papua in the same taxa or as different taxa with common leechlime. The invention of the morphological character proof an this leechlime collection plants as an indicate a primary to study of the existence genetic variation of leechlime.
