Daya Tarik Kantong Semar Sebagai Dasar Konservasi dan Pengembangan Untuk Tanaman Hias Komersial

Nepenthes species have a very high economic value. The pitcher is unique, morphology variation on leaf or pitcher, pitcher life or rare plant category are very interesting for offering as ornamental plants. At least six species collections of Bogor Botanic Garden have potential for ornamental plant, there are: Nepenthes ampullaria, Nepenthes rafflesiana, Nepenthes x hookeriana, Nepenthes mirabilis, Nepenthes gracilis dan Nepenthes reinwardtiana. N. mirabilis frequently produced pitcher, also has more variation in pitcher colour. N. reinwardtiana not only frequently produced pitcher but also has long pitcher life. N. gracilis is more suitable for hanging pot plant. The biggest size of pitcher produced by Nepenthes rafflesiana. Rosettes pitcher that are usually spread out on the growth media is the most interesting part of N. ampullaria. N. x hookeriana has unigue pitcher as result for combining from two parents.
