Struktur Buah, Biji dan Perkecambahan Biji Burahol (Stelechocarpus Burahol (Blume) Hook.f. & Thomson)

The purpose of this study was to determine the fruit and seed structure of Burahol (Stelechocarpus burahol (Blume) Hook.f. & Thomson) and to analyse the seed germination. Research was conducted in Laboratory of Seed Conservation Bogor Botanic Gardens. The seed morphology of burahol is rounded shape and accumulated at seed apex. The seed width, length and thickness can reach up to 1.76 ± 0.04 cm ; 2.42 ± 0.04 cm and 1.23 ± 0.03 cm respectively. Seed fresh weight 374.63 ± 15.13 gr with water content of 47.25 ± 1.45%. Burahol seed is classified as stony seed. Structure of seed coat consisted of the outer integument, aril and inner integument, this structure was a special protector of cotyledon and seed embryo. The embryo analysis indicated that the seed has morphological dormancy. Burahol is experiencing primary deep dormancy due to underdeveloped embryo. Seed viability is 71.67 ± 10.41 0/0.
