Effort on the culture of pearl oysters, Pinctada maxima were increasing to meet demand. However,the oysters farmers face the extreme change of environment conditions that caused mass mortality of the seeds, especially in individuals with shells diameters ranging from 3 to 4 cm. The study was conducted from October to November 2008 at marine Bio-Industry Technical implementation Unit, research centre for oceanography, Indonesian Institute of Sciences in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. The research aimed at identified survival of pearl oyster seeds (Pinctada maxima) in the extreme changes of temperature condition. The result showed that the mortality of pearl oyster seeds occurred when water temperature was extremely changed with gradient of 2 - 4 oC. The highest oyster suvival rate was 28 - 28,5 oC (16 persen), followed by 29 - 29,5 oC (8 persen), and 30-30,5 oC (4 persen). Proseding Seminar Nasional Perikanan Indonesia, 2008. P: 467-473
